Der FIFIK e. V. unterstützt jährlich die Teilnahme von interessierten Studierenden an der Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für technische Kommunikation (tekom e. V.).
FIFIK e. V. veranstaltet seit 2003 eine Reihe von Fachtagungen für Technische Redakteure, für Medizinisches Informationsmanagement, oder für Public Relations und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit. Viele der Fachtagungen werden mit der Verabschiedung von AbsolventInnen und mit Fachtreffen von Ehemaligen (Alumnis) verknüpft.
Unter dem Motto „Ethics, Policies & Practice for Patient Benefit“ fand eine internationale Konferenz zur Gesundheitsforschung vom 7. – 9. Juni 2016 an der Hochschule Hannover statt. Die Konferenz mit ca. 160 Rednern und Teilnehmern aus 12 Ländern wurde organisiert von der deutschen Einheit des UNESCO Netzwerkes für Bioethik und beschäftigte sich mit unterschiedlichen Aspekten der medizinischen Forschung über grundsätzliche ethische Fragestellungen bis hin zur telemedizinischen Unterstützung von Patienten. Nach den Bekundungen vieler Teilnehmer war die Konferenz ein großer Erfolg. Das Veranstaltungskonzept mit Vorträgen am Vormittag und Workshops zu ausgesuchten Themen am Nachmittag hat sich dabei als sehr geeignet bestätigt. Die Räumlichkeiten der Hochschule an der Expo Plaza 2 sowie 12 erwiesen sich dabei als ein hervorragender Veranstaltungsort. Im Rahmen der Posterausstellung wurde vor allem jungen Nachwuchsforschern Gelegenheit gegeben, eigene Projekte und Ergebnisse vorzustellen. Eine Expertenjury bestehend aus Prof. Phil Walson, USA, Prof. Zouheir Attieh, Libanon und Prof. Zainab Osman, Sudan bewertete die Einreichungen und überreichte den Gewinnern des Posterwettbewerbs am Ende der Veranstaltung ihre Geldpreise. Erste Gespräche zu weiteren Tagungen an der Hochschule Hannover zusammen mit dem UNESCO Netzwerk für Bioethik wurden bereits während der Konferenz vom Leiter des UNESCO Netzwerkes Prof. Carmi aus Israel angeregt.

The 12th world conference on Bioethics, Medical Ethics and Health Law in
Limassol from 21st March to 23th March 2017was attended by Prof. Gerhard
Fortwengel, Dr. Dnyanesh Limaye and Mr. Firas Fneish.
The conference offered a platform for the exchange of information and
knowledge and to hold discussions, lectures, workshops and exhibition of
programs and databases.
Prof. Dr. Gerhard Fortwengel chaired a session on Clinical Trials Ethics. He individually presented on “Standard of Care and Transparency in Clinical Trials – Could They Go Together?” This presentation referred to the outcome of a research project conducted with students as part of the voluntary student research group and focused on top pharmaceutical companies worldwide for example – GSK, Pfizer, Novartis, and Roche etc. and their practices in regards to transparency affecting clinical trials. Aim of this study was to find out whether companies explicitly make a statement regarding standard of care and research in developing countries and whether this information is accessible easily in public domain?
Dr. Dnyanesh Limaye presented on “Knowledge and Practice of Clinical Ethics among Private Medical Practitioners from Mumbai, India”. This presentation was based on a face to face interview study done in Mumbai. This study revealed that physicians from Mumbai have poor knowledge of medical ethics and do not implement that in their clinical practice. Medical ethics should be built as a subject in teaching curriculum of medical education in India.
Both presentations were well attended and concluded with valuable discussions.
Mr. Firas Fneish presented a poster on “Ethical issues in pharmacy shop practice”. This was based on the field study done in Lebanon. Message from this study was pharmacist’s need to improve their ethical practices and continuing education in ethics is the current need.
On day two of the conference a movie addressing bioethical aspects in everyone’s daily live titled “Within my small circle”, developed and produced independently by students from HsH under the supervision of Ms Martha Herbold, was presented in the conference lobby hall to the audience in recurrent loop mode from 10 am to 5 pm.
This conference also gave a chance to attend the IFT – (International Federation of Teachers) meeting and to meet the registered IFT members all over world. In total, this conference was a great success and learning for our team. We believe this will serve for advancement of ethics education in our teaching and research activities.
